Minnesota Jump$tart successfully held its annual financial literacy event in April 2014, bringing together 100 teachers, financial educators, community members, and parents to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Duane Carter, Senior Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis kicked off the event. Chris Farrell, an award winning journalist, provided the keynote with Commissioner Mike Rothman, Minnesota Department of Commerce, leading a question and answer session and providing closing remarks. We also provided scholarships for two Minnesota teachers to attend the Jump$tart National Educator Conference. Minnesota’s Young Adult Mentoring Program (YAMP) continued, bringing together youth transitioning from foster care with volunteer financial planners.
